  1. Time for an update! Over the past months, we have been busy weekly making sure the gameplay is near perfect. Anything players reported, was fixed asap and reported back to players. So far, we have a nice loyal community of classic players who like the grind and a long lasting server. We have recently made the server more new-player friendly. It is now easier for newer players to obtain C and B grade gear which will help alot for farming. Interesting also is that Antharas and Valakas have not been killed yet. Other raid bosses have been killed. Clans were smart enough to find good ways killing epics using all skills at their disposal. Come check us out! By now you have the proof we are not in this for the money and that we dont just close down after a week or 3.

  3. We have been open for a good week now and see our online number increasing. Yesterday a polish CP of 10 people came to check us out. In addition, we are getting more latin players to our server meaning that there will be nice activity in the European night hours J So far we are happy to see people enjoy the classic gameplay on COTP. We keep going as long as we have a lively community. Any of you who are tired of having to switch server every 2 months, come check us out. We are a safe bet!
  4. Mr Zero hit the nail on the head. Many players travel like nomads from server to server repeating their standard chore without actually reaping the benefit of fun. We attempt to offer a long lasting server with a tough but manageable grind where you find the classic gameplay. It may take you a few weeks longer than normal to get gear but in return you will also use this gear for a much longer period of time. So far, we are happy with the result. A growing core of loyal people who believe in our project. As they all know, there is absolutely no incentive to donate so as far as we are concerned, no one has to donate! We had our first exploiter today. It turned out to be fake as he was just bluffing and showing off with tricks from the past that no longer work on our server. We take everything positive or negative dead serious. Thanks for your reply zero, and all others who backed us up so far. We will keep going as long as we have a community that wants to play!
  5. Unlimited boxes allowed. Economically, this server is about equity and asset management. You are an entrepreneur and can make as many money makers as you want. We don't disclose information about online players. If you like this project, give it a chance. Alot of people have done so the past 3 days :-). The self fulfilling prophecy of "no one online so I dont play which is why no one is online which is why I dont play etc.." is toxic.
  6. We have MANY MANY minor tweaks in the game. It is impossible to list our entire configuration on a website or here. An example is that our Blacksmith of Mammon allows players to upgrade Top C into Low B and Low B into Top B. An example where B armor is useful, would be the Shillien Elder. Imagine you have a +12 BW Light set (+%Pdef +%CstSpd). You would assist a party with some recharges / heals / ressurections but mainly you would be very suitable to mana drain enemy bishops and dominators. Your greater mana burn will burn their mana in a few seconds. An alternative is tanks running on Doom Heavy. IC is the better armor but as long as IC is difficult to obtain, an enchanted Doom Heavy set is very useful for tanks. Since nukers are usually overpowered in the first few months of a server, we have made it easy to obtain +10 - + 12 b grade jewels. Crafting them has always been easy and with our enchant system, it is possible to obtain +12 black ore relatively fast. This gives fighter classes good defense against mage power. All in all people, we offer the classic gameplay and a long term project. As long as the community is lively, we keep this server running. We both have good day jobs so money is not our primary concern. You can see that by us having no real donation system that benefits players.
  7. Hello Luigi, we think it is not possible to fully banish botting and packet injection. We also think that if you can not uphold the rules and regulations you implement, you should not implement them in the first place. We have come up with a system where we allow players to bot non-afk. Captcha's and manual GM checks are done to enforce this. In addition, the botting will lead to a stable economy. Enough Adena destroying measures have been implemented to make sure there will be no mass inflation due to people having x00.000.000 Adena. Since botters and individual players will never be really rich but WILL offer the drops of their bots on the market, market prices will automatically decrease due to excessive supply compared to limited demand and limited player equity. This means all players (including new players) will always be able to create, level and gear up a character for acceptable adena prices. Basically, what we have done, is turned the botters into the slaves of the server. They will supply the economy with alot of materials and the market will coordinate the prices :). So far, this is working out. Prices are at acceptable level without influence from the staff.
  8. Here's another small update for all you classic L2 lovers. We have welcomed yet another clan to our server. A Greek clan that has been playing on many servers has chosen to give COTP a try. In addition, 2 players have created Top B weapons (Wizards Tear and Bow Of Peril). Multiple players are working on their B grade armor set. We really like that our configuration and features are appealing to players. Activity has again gone up. Here is a screenshot taken today on Giran. Note the C armor :-). If you like classic gameplay and natural C -> B -> A item progression, this server is for you.

On most private servers, killing bosses has become a routine job. We have therefore, boosted all bosses in game. All epic and regular raid bosses have been boosted. Stats have been increased drastically. Killing bosses means bringing the right classes and enough people. You will also need to bring escorts to protect you against enemy players. Attacking any boss will make you flag so enemy players can easily sabotage your raid. Bosses level 58+ and epic bosses also drop the Gold currency. Relevant areas around epic bosses are turned into combat zones. In this area, killing other players is without consequence. Additionally, killing a player outside of the zone while the killer is standing in the zone, will not lead to karma or PK points. To make epic bosses more challenging, their stat boost is substantial but they have also been made vulnerable to debuffs. Root, stun, sleep, slow / entangle / freezing strike, poison, bleed, silence, Demon Wind, Blizzard, Inferno etc., are landable. The following skills have been changed specifically for epic boss slaying: - Demon Wind: Sets HP Regen to 0 for 120 seconds - Blizzard: Sets speed to 40% for 120 seconds - Inferno: Deals ALOT of damage per tick. Ticks once per 3 seconds for 120 seconds. Total damage: 700.000+ HP on an epic boss These skills are absolutely nessecary for Baium, Antharas and Valakas. 3. More about Clans / Alliances: Clans are made and levelled up just like official servers. Multiple quests need to be done and reputation must be farmed at some point. For clan reputation, raidbosses can be killed. They instantly offer clan reputation to the party dealing the final hit. Beware though, attacking any raid boss will make you flag. Regarding alliances, we allow only up to 2 clans in 1 alliance. This has been done to ensure a 3 or 4 sided server. Coalition deals between alliances are always possible but this still leads to separate sovereign alliances. 4. Enchanting / S, A, B: We will not disclose the exact mechanism behind our enchant system. We consider +6 S grade to be a good end-game armor set. We have measured and ensured that our enchant system gives players a reasonable chance to obtain +6 S grade armor when they have invested the proper time and effort. To give PvP and character builds an extra dimension, we have modified the A and B enchant rates so that the effort to enchant A and B armors to +10 and +12, is about just as difficult as S grade to +6. The pdef of A and B armor items has been changed appropriately. This leads to a situation where A, B and S enchanted at +12, +10 and +6, have similar pdef. Players are now able to use any A. B or S armor set on an end game built without having to sacrifice unreasonable amounts of pdef. As +6 S grade is considered to be end game, new players will not be at a very great disadvantage compared to older players. Examples: - Archers with a +10 MJ Light set have similar pdef to Drac +6 Light - Daggers with +10 DC Light or +10 NM Light have similar pdef to Drac +6 - Daggers with +12 Zubei Light have similar pdef to Drac +6 - Duelists / Destroyers with +10 Tallum Heavy have similar pdef to IC +6 (ex. the pdef % bonus) - Tanks / SWS with +12 Doom Heavy have similar pdef to IC +6 (ex. the pdef % bonus) Here is a quick impression of the first weekend, alot of people in D and C grade. So far, there are no complete B or A sets on the server. Today the first player hit 76+ & Third class. One clan was able to kill a higher level boss. This was done the old fashioned way by debuffing and slowing the boss. They used DEMON WIND to stop his HP regeneration. Then they kited the boss and brought enough firepower and heal/recharge power to outlast the boss. D and C armor while farming, debuffing, kiting and outlasting raid bosses. This is the old L2 like C1 - C4 retail. This is what COTP is about. So far, no epics killed. The server is progressing steadily with a loyal core of players.
  10. Hello players and followers of this topic. Recently we have added a new feature to the server. Custom sound crystals. These crystals use the tutorial voice option. Many players have the tutorial volume up high because of our captcha alarm. Now you can play sound fragments to these players using our custom soul crystals.   11. Legend says that when your random private server closes in 1 month and you are homeless, we are still online. Legend says that when that random GM with a random server closes in 2 months and heads off with your money, we are still online. Legend says that in 1 year, when you wasted your time being nothing on 5 random servers that all close after 2 months, we are still online. Legend even says that in 2 years, if our server life is still completely vivacious, we will continue for as long as players want. And that difficult start we have with 125 - 150 active players, they are all hardcore believers so we stay open for them and we keep buying more marketing. Sooner or later, everyone knows COTP doesn't close. But you are welcome to play on "L2 Servidor de BR 50000x +50 max enchantos". Have fun!
  12. First sieges will commence on 24 and 25 March. At least 1 castle will be in a favorable time zone for our latin american players. Olympiad will be opened shortly after. Our server is still brand new. No grand epics are killed, no castles taken and no heroes yet. Great opportunities for capable clans!
  13. We have 100 - 125 active players and 300+ online. The 300 includes bots /shops etc.. So far, only AQ is being killed. Other epics are not touched yet. Server is still in good shape for new players and clan.

  15. Thank you toaster! We are up for about 1 week now. We see our player number increase daily. These are also people who decide to stay as we see them login everyday. What surprised us, even though we tested many things during Alpha and Beta, players randomly run in to all kinds of little errors. We have been fixing everything players find and are now looking at a steady build. We hope to see more people join our server. This is a real 2 year (or more!) project. Best gear after 1 week is a guy with +0 DC and +0 Valhalla. This shows you the server is meant for long term.

There are no quick wins or quick gains. Pay2Win is not possible on our server. Investment, effort, asset management and Clan / CP gameplay is what this server is all about. We do not use any flashy banners of half naked dark elves promising you “a great server”. More about the economy: We have an Adena based economy which means that Adena will be the main currency for trades. To ensure that mass-inflation will not take place, many services require Adena. This continuously destroys players’ Adena which means players have to farm continuously or use their Adena in a wise manner. Examples of Adena sinks are: - Expensive Teleports - Expensive Blacksmith services - Very Expensive (but also very strong!) Mercenaries - Expensive Augmentation - Expensive fee to leave jail - Expensive fee to reduce PK points (if one does not want to quest) - etc.. By using an Adena based economy, new players will be able to step into the game immediately selling their materials and other items to high level players for good prices. This allows newer players to access C and B grade gear more easily. By destroying Adena on a large scale, inflation does not occur and the market stays stable and predictable. Currencies & Benefits: Adena is farmed from monsters and gained from quests. Aside from the rate of adena, nothing regarding adena is different from official servers. Adena is used for all general purposes. In addition adena is needed for tattoo’s, upgrading tattoo’s, clan armor and various other server specific functions. Because Adena is being destroyed by spending it on NPC functions, there will be a constant demand for Adena meaning that inflation will be on acceptable levels. Various functions of Adena: – General transactions – Items up to A grade (The easily craftable items) – Potions, scrolls, etc. – Manor systems – Buying Tattoos, upgrading Tattoos – Buying Apella armor, upgrading Apella armor – Bribing the Warden in jail to get out of jail faster Gold is collected by killing raid bosses of epic raid bosses. Raid bosses of level 58+ and epic bosses, will drop gold. Gold can be used in the gold store. Gold can not be obtained in any other way. Not even by donating. The gold store provides players with: – Book of Giants – Quick Healing Potions – Enchant and Blessed Enchant D – S As it is impossible to acquire Gold in any other way than from killing bosses, players who wish to have an end-game build are forced to hunt bosses. As players automatically flag when attacking a boss, there is a guaranteed way of getting PvP. VIP Coins are obtained by donating. Examples: – Buy noble quest – Buy epic quests (Valakas, Frintezza, Baium, Antharas) – Buy Ketra / Varka quest up to mane farming stage – Buy Malaria potions – Buy accessoires (Hat’s, Quick Healing Potions etc.) – Player Services: PK reduction, Change of nickname, color of name, gender, hair etc. – Remove jail points As you can see, real items of value can not be obtained with Donation Coins. There is no Pay2Win element on our server. The VIP status that can be bought with donation coins, offers you Alt-B functionality anywhere on the map. In addition, VIPs can buff: – Elemental Protection – Divine Protection – Arcane protection – Resist Holy / Unholy – Resist Fire / Aqua / Wind – Song of Storm / Flame Guard – Dance of Aqua Guard 3. Sieges We have made sieges more realistic. Walls can not be broken by players. Doors and gates can only be attacked by players who belong to an attacking clan. Guards have received an incredible boost and are now equal to level 76 players with +0 S grade gear. All guards use soulshots and spiritshots. Last but not least, each type of guard has skills corresponding with his class. Guards are running around using: Shield stun, Earthquake, Shock Stomp, Shock Blast, Armor Crush, Tribunal, Stun Shot, Double Shot, Hurricane, Aqua Splash, Prominence, Greater Battle Heal, Heart Of Paagrio. We advise you to bring a large force if you do not want to be destroyed by guards. You will need a stacked party of damage dealers who assist on 1 guard. In addition, you need to bring a party that can handle the crowd control on large groups of guards. Sleeping Cloud, Poisonous Cloud, Dominators and Dreadnoughts will be very useful. 7. Seven Signs Our Seven Signs system differs from retail servers. Manor production is reduced by 15% for each seal Dawn does not win. If Dusk wins all seals, Dusk players access a manor-type shop at the priestess of dusk where Ancient Adena and Adena are used for items normally produced by a manor. Regular enchants, QHP, BoG and Dualsword Craft Stamps. 8. Other Effects: We have reintroduceerd Might Mortal on C and B grade daggers. We think Might Mortal is part of the game and gives daggers a more useful role. Daggers will work as follows: - Backstab landrate from behind: 100% - Backstab landrate from the side or front: 0% - Dagger blow landrate from behind: 80%+x - Dagger blow landrate from the side: 60%+x - Dagger blow landrate from the front: 30%+x Where x is any other modifier to the landrate (Might Mortal etc.). To ensure daggers will not be overpowered. A Patk modifier is added to all dagger strike skills. This means a dagger using a Demon Sword Might Mortal will land substantially more blows but will deal lower damage per blow compared to an AS+CD. Might Mortal has been added as SA on the following daggers: - Dark Elven Dagger (C) - Stiletto (C) - Crystal Dagger (C) - Demon Sword (B) We have given the SwordSinger and BladeDancer passive heavy armor mastery and deflect arrow. They are now able to soak damage similar to tanks. Ultimately, without Majesty, Aegis or Guard Stance, tanks are still the masters of Pdef. The landrate and damage of negative SWS / BD skills has been boosted. SWS and BD are now very usefull in mass PvP and potent Olympiad classes. We have given the Phantom Summoner Death Spike. This makes the PS more useful in PvP and Olympiad. Archers have received 250 extra range on longshot 2. Archers now have the longest range. Fatal counter has received an exponential of 10. We have increased the damage of DoT attacks to 150 per tick. 1 tick is dealt per 3 seconds. These skills are: Bleed, Poison, Flame, Decay and any other similar DoT skill or DoT AoE skill. The landrate has also been drastically increased. Resistance to poison and bleed is now very relevant. If you do not dress and buff appropriately, you will bleed out in 10 or 15 seconds. Using the above effects and perhaps more in the future, each class has its clear strengths and weaknesses. There will not be an all-dominating class on our server. Each class can be effectively countered by another. The measures described above are a part of our complete build.   18. Hello players! 3 days left for our launch! We plan on launching at february 23 at 1900 GMT+1. Before the launch, we wipe the server completely. Tattoos are also completely removed. On launch, all epics are unavailable. Depending on how much players we have after a few days, we will release the epics 1 by 1. Remember that our epic bosses have received heavy boosts. The first sieges will happen on the weekend of 10 and 11 march. Depending on how many siege ready clans we have, we will release a certain number of castles for sieges. All clans are automatically level 5 on creation. We want clans to kickstart into this game to focus on farming, crafting and PvP. Whether we have 10 or 1000 players, we will keep this server up for at least 2 years. Tell all your L2 friends about us! This is the beginning of a new era.   19. Update: We have completely removed all tattoos from the game and will not release them. Many players gave us feedback that tattoos are too custom and not part of a hardcore classic experience. Buff slots are now 24 after using divine books. Additional buffs are possible by voting.

  21. Hello prospective players! As you all may know, the 7-Signs event is usually not very interesting on any server. Rates are usually always higher than 1x so farming Ancient Adena is relatively easy. Today we will implement an idea to make 7-Signs, sieging and item procurement more interesting. What will our 7-Signs look like? We consider Dawn to be the side of the server nobility which controls castles. The general situation introducé, is that castle owners only have 55% crop yield per day as long as Dawn does not control any seal. Per seal that Dawn controls, crop yield is increased by 15% up to 100% (standard retail production). This means that not having a Dawn victory, severely limits castle production. In addition, when Dawn does not win, taxation is much lower (retail function). This crop yield will be lowered the moment sold crops are turned into ripe crops. This means players will still be able to sell the number of crops normally available. Material creation is therefore not sabotaged. We consider Dusk to be the side of unaffiliated clans, players and alliances that are fighting castle owners. Dusk has the benefit that when all seals are won, Dusk players get access to additional items in the Priestess of Dusk shop. These items are: - Book of Giants - Quick Healing Potions - Dual Sword Craft Stamp - Enchant Armor / Weapon D to A The prices for these items will be comparatively higher when compared to manor production. Manor production will be the more efficiënt method for clans to mass-produce BoG / QHP and Enchants. In addition, all siege guards and mercenaries are nerfed greatly when Dusk wins. Crest time for attacking clans is also reduced. All other retail win / lose functions are in place. If Dawn or Dusk wins each seal, the opposing side can not access Catacombs / Necropolis. To balance this event, we will release castles for siege based on the number of siege ready clans. Example: We consider 7 clans to be siege-ready, we will release 4 castles. This will lead to the situation where 3 clans can not have a castle. 3 clans will be interested in signing on for Dusk as Dawn will not give them any advantage and will instead, give their enemies advantages. With this method, we want to make 7-Signs more relevant and give factions the opportunity to severely sabotage their enemies.

Last weekend, we have implemented the following options on our beta server build: - Boosted Epic Bosses - Greater Recharge / Greater Mana Burn for the Shillien Elder - Olympiad registration limits 1. Boosted Epic Bosses: Baium: Overall stat increase, attack range increased, damage substantially increased Antharas: Patk and Speed increased Zaken: Greatly increased Mdef, Greatly increased Archery resist, Greatly decreased Pdef, HP boosted Scarlet and Valakas are unchanged for now AntQueen: Received AoE poison attack and AoE Root attack Baium, Antharas and Valakas are regular hard hitting end game bosses. They must be slowed using Lvl 3 Slow effect or Blizzard. For an easier time, consider putting Demon Wind or Inferno on them. Zaken is a boss tricked out against nukers and archers. Use tyrants / duelists / daggers / destroyers. Zaken is tankable if a party has 2 healers or a healer + recharger. 2. Greater Recharge / Greater Mana Burn We like the role that BP, EE and SE used to play in L2. To make the EE and SE relevant, our mana potions give half mana immediately and the other half over 15 seconds. This means that during PvP, Epics or Raids, nuker groups will need charges. The EE and SE are therefore, relevant classes to play. Usually, only the EE will be played as the SE lacks healing power. To make the SE very useful in PvE and PvP, we have given the SE a Greater Recharge skill and a Greater Mana Burn skill. In sum: - Greater Recharge = 50% more costs over recharge and 50% more power over recharge - Greater Mana Burn = 50% more costs over Mana burn and 50% more power over mana burn You would say this does not matter much. Keep in mind that MP efficiency skills and skill enchants will make Greater Recharge a very effective recharging skill. Also, do not underestimate Greater Mana Burn. A well equipped SE can mana burn an entire character in 6 or 7 burns. This means the SE is also strategically useable in PvP against enemy dominators or bishops. Within seconds, a dominator or bishop is completely out of MP. In sum, the roles are as follows: - BP = Absolute best heal power output - EE = Balance between heal power and recharge possibility - SE = Pure recharger and mana burner 3. Olympiad Registration limits We have added a restriction where one IP adress is only allowed to register one character for the olympiad. Further restrictions to enforce 1 man 1 char, may be introduced aswell. We hope you like our modifications and are looking forward to see you play on COTP!
  23. Update: Our apologies for making another post within 24 hours. We would like to make 3 aspects of COTP clear: 1: Botting non-afk is allowed. You may use any program and phx. We reserve the right however, to kick, jail or ban any player that uses scripts that make PvP, Raids/Epics or Sieges unfair / influenced. 2: Buying / selling player 2 player for real money is allowed. We do not care what players do with their items. The staff will NEVER spawn / enchant / augment items but players may buy and sell each others' items free of charge or scrutiny from the staff. 3: Voting: As owners, we want to interfere as little as possible. Voting will not give you items or any other material rewards. Voting for our server will give you 4 extra buff slots. We have DISABLED Divine Inspiration so 20 + 4 buffs are possible where those last 4 buff slots are rewarded by voting. This way, we think we have a fair voting system that does not create items or monetary rewards. Have fun!
