Looking For Server to Help Develop!

Question

Posted

I would like to join a server development team somewhere.  :D

I know I have only 2 posts, but my experience in the community more than makes up for my lack of posts.

Anyway, Let me describe my experience:

I started coding L2J 5 years ago as a hobby of mine hoping to learn more about coding video games. I was only 13 at the time and had a tough time learning. I didn't really start picking up on how to code until I was about 16 but that didn't stop me from trying. For those first three years I made a slue of shitty private servers and just hosted them at my house attempting to learn the basics of server hosting and project development. Long story short I didn't get very far in those first few years. But when I turned 16 I stepped up my involvement and started to actually get involved applying patches and learning how to write java, from there my knowledge of the source code sky rocketed. After about a year of learning how to apply patches and manipulate code I downloaded a fresh copy of L2J and made my own server from the code that I had learned the year prior, but I was not able to master my server and management was a hard aspect of communicating between team mates. The project turned out to be a flop and I eventually closed it about 6 months later due to lack of player activity. From there on I continued to develop and learn until I applied to college about a year ago. This past year I have been focusing mainly on my studies however I have come to realize that I have to much free time at the university and my urge to get back to my beloved hobby has sparked itself once again.

Anyway if you read all of my rant, I want to join an active server team it doesn't have to be an established server team, but my only goal is that there has to be people willing to fund the team. When i say fund I mean like paying for the website domain/hosting and a solid server computer. I will not join a team that doesn't have sufficient funds to support the team.

If you want my help I am on MSN just hit me up:

slywhitesheep@hotmail.com

Thanks

So you are a self proclaimed java developer, eh? What's the difference between an interface and an abstract class? Also, how do you use polymorphism while coding something for l2j? I'm not trying to sound cocky here, but answering these would actually show your knowledge ;)

Just from memory I know that an interface is not a class and an abstract class is defined but not instanced and poly morphism deals with the methods upon which different objects interact.

Sorry if thats not right but I don't know what those are by text book definition. I am just looking to help develop a server and while I may need to know what those are to code a server I am still learning and sure I could give you an answer with a simple "google that shit" clause. Sorry if It sounded like I knew everything in my first post but I don't. And you proved that. Want a cookie?

Hey, the answer is pretty legit actually. Much better than i've seen in similar forums for a while now. So welcome to maxcheaters and happy hunting for a team :) if anyone is looking for a team member, consider him. He looks like 'that guy' who might shine from the ashes if you ask me.
