Liξ™ StyLe Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Since so many are dubious understanding of how this works with the rates so the public is hereby a simple guide on how to set up his perfect rates. First, the elementary, what rates are. Rates are settings that manages the flow between the server and the client (your computer). The man in the exchange may only be done slowly in small packages, things get a little choppy, which it might not normally want. The point is that there are very many out there running around in our virtual worlds with rates that are sometimes quite wacky up the walls, the fact is that even with the default settings in cs is pretty strange ... Some are playing with incorrect rates on purpose to make it difficult to see such a player. There they may not know is that it becomes harder for them to meet their own opponents, this to such a degree that it actually does not pay to play with the missing settings. So come on guys, learn how to set up, it's for everyone! Loss and choke Start by going into a server - to no public only. List server is not good enough because when the flow is not routed through the internet, but directly to your computer. (For those who do not know, is a list server a server that has been on his own computer, "New Game" in the game, that is.) After you take down the console and type net_graph 3rd There you can see how things are with the connection to the server. At the top stands fps ROM (which I will not help with the here and now), while it says how much goes into (it) and how fast, how much is going out to the server and the speed and finally at the bottom of something called for Loss and Choke. If you want to remove infon write net_graph 0 and so it is just gone. Loss is short, how much has been lost on the way from the server to your home and Choke is how much has gone out of it that you sent to the server. To make an incredibly long and annoying story short, so there are three important settings that affect the unpleasantness. The first and most important is called simply "rate". It shows how much the packages sent from the server should be. Large package is of course a lot of information, but you send large packages to "stick" them into the tube and then you can get away and / or choke. Rates The command rate should be adjusted according to how well the connection you have. Has modern broadband (or DSL) can bring it up to a maximum of 20000th If you play on 56k modem, you can put it as low as 3000, less is usually not needed because you could have bad connection to it is just hard to play cs. We do not know what to have for the rate can be trial and error by putting it pretty high and then take a look at loss and choke. Has been so much loss is there anything wrong really, and then you get cut. You should have as high a rate as possible without suffering. However! One should not stare yourself blind on this command when there are more relevant. Try to write "rate 20,000" in the console or config. cl_updaterate The next command we look at is cl_updaterate. It affects how many packages in seconds that the server sends to the client. It would of course of course have as many as possible, "cl_updaterate 101 'is advantageous. It may happen then is that you get the choke (and remove), which it might not want. What you do then is that it lowers its cl_updaterate until it ends. You have to also make sure to calibrate the rate, but it has good connection it works almost always with 20000, so it is usually easy to set. cl_cmdrate And then for a further command: cl_cmdrate. Max is again advantageous and it is again 101. Cl_cmdrate is the opposite of cl_updaterate and affects mainly loose. May be very loose you should therefore reduce cl_cmdrate until it ends. Worth mentioning is that one should not stare yourself blind on the choke and loss, set it down cl_updaterate to 10 will not get either choke or loss, but enough phase will follow. If you have low settings, it will therefore be choppy, has been set them too high, it will not add, but you get loss of data. Worth mentioning is the default setting for cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate are 20 and 30, which can mean huge lag for players with good line. Summary of rates Abstract: Rate, cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate should be as high as possible without loss / choke occurs. Occurs both loose and choke rate is probably the culprit, it's just loose it lowers cl_cmdrate and is the only choke that causes trouble lowers it cl_updaterate. Which settings are optimal depends both on the computer, its connection and the server it is connected to. ex_interp To the next setting that many have inaccurate information about: interp. The command is called ex_interp and what you need to know is that you should write "ex_interp 0" in the console or in config. What happens then is that it sets itself to the correct value. Here are some you do not need to know: interp affect how many images are "guessed" and how many are "real". In the past, did that command that you got better chance to react if you put it right, something which no longer works. What happens if you set the caricature nowadays is that you get problems with the hitbox. For this to work perfectly should take their cl_updaterate and invert it. (1/cl_updaterate). Have cl_updaterate 100 is therefore 1 / 100 and 0:01. But you may with advantage forget it, "ex_interp 0" is applicable, in case you need to change their rates at any time. Quote
CryStaliN Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 write "rate 20,000" in the console are you kidding me? ??? The perfect rate is 25.000,if i try to use other of this rate i will gonna have a lag like with low speed conection "ex_interp 0" is applicable, actualy nope try to use 0.1 is better ;) Agree with the cl_updaterate the most usualy is 101 Quote
