Why do we need compiling???

Why files do we need to compile?(i mean SVN??)

Well, compiling if for ppl who's keeping their server updated all the time (Less bugs, more fixes). Also compiling is for server owners who editing Java sources to add functionality (Linea new commands, edited enchanting, etc (Those are just simple examples!)).
