Character Suddenly Can't Defeat Enemies Anymore?

Hey all! I saw that this game is in its last stages of life, or at least it seems so, and I decided to check it out for that bizarre and interesting "Dying MMO" atmosphere.

I saw that the new Adena server type made it easier to solo, so I made a character there and started going through the tutorial quests. I'm on the part where you hit Level 15 and get your Buff Skills and are told to go to the second area to kill 30 basic enemies. I was killing them in a few hits, not a problem, when suddenly my character just, like, lost the ability to fight? One enemy, it was going down in a couple of hits, the very next identical enemy of the same Level, its healthbar was barely moving while it was demolishing me. I checked the other enemies in the area and got the same result.

I tried to look up the problem, but as it would turn out this game might as well not exist according to Google.

Does anyone know what's happening? I'm sure it's a simple mechanic that just wasn't explained and I can't find any info about online. Thanks so much!

      ⚙️ General Changed “No Carrier” title to “Disconnected” to avoid confusion after abnormal DC. On-screen Clan War kill notifications will no longer appear during Sieges, Epics, or Events. Bladedancer or SwordSinger classes can now log in even when Max Clients (2) is reached, you cannot have both at the same time. The max is 3 clients. Duels will now be aborted if a monster aggros players during a duel (retail-like behavior). Players can no longer send party requests to blocked players (retail-like).
