Raule Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I has borrow 50 euro from Finito and 50 from Crystalin. So i have 100 euros and i buy a t-shirt wich costs 97 euros. I have 3uros left now. I give 1 euro to finito and 1 to crystalin so 1 reamins to me. SO i owe them 49euro each. That means 49+ 49= 98+ 1 euro from me = 99 euro WHere is the that euro?
ProJecT Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 3 euro change. Raule = 1 Crystalin = 1 Me = 1 I own you 49 both of you. 49+49=98 I already gave you 1 euro each one from the change. That's 2 euros. So 98+2=100 I have 1 euro too. So 100+1=101 D:

Raule Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 100-97=3 48+49=97 +3 euros left +1 euro to finito+1 to crystalia 49+50+1=100 Y u must give them 1 euro first.
ProJecT Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 That means 49 + 49 = 98 + I give 1 euro to finito and 1 to crystalin so 1 reamins to me. That's equal 2. =100 100+1 I already have = 101
Dask Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 50 from finito 50 from crystallin You buy smth with 97 euros cost. Ok, you have 3 euros. You still owe 50 euros to both of them. You give 1 to Finito, so you owe him 49. You give 1 to Crystallin, so you owe him 49. And 1€ remain to you. If you payback Finito and crystallin, you won't keep that euro. You will give them 49+49 plus the 1 euro you gave them before =50 each.
Tessellate Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 i wouldnt pay them back at all.. just keep the €100

K4rMa Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 There is no missing euro. You borrowed two times 49 euro = 98, and spend 97 , and now have an extra pound to keep for yourself. You are adding up what you owe, plus what you have which doesnt work, as there is no 100 . Once you give them the 1 back if you are adding up what you spent you should either add up 49 +49 = shirt + 1 change or if you are adding up what you borrowed originally that is 50+50 = shirt +3 change. They are two difference equations cleverly put together to make it look like there is a missing pound. Thanks google.
