[Problem] Custom Armors

Recommended Posts

I followed Devangell's guide about how to create your own custom armor.

1) Open UTPT

2) Open fdwarf.utx

3) Export images of items as TGA(upper body, lower body, boots, gloves)

4) Open Photoshop and change color with adjustment layers

5) Save as TGA(but you have to delete something from the original name e.g.

original name: fdwarf.utx-Boots.FDwarf_m005_t1006_b_sh(Texture)_0

save name: FDwarf_m005_t1006_b_sh

6) Open UnrealEngine Editor and import the saved custom items.

And here is the problem. I can't import them. Yes, I check the masked option and choose DXT 3, but it doesn't import them.

Anyone knows why?

Maybe because it's not the original files?(I download a server and took the fdwarf.utx file from in there)

Import them where? back to the fdwarf.utx?

The guide showing Devangell importing the files in Unreal and then I think he is trying to make them animate. Haven't you see his MEGA Guide?

He is just pressing Import(At Textures of Unreal), change name and add a name at editor. Check the box of Masked(or unmasked I don't remember the name) and choose DXT 3.

you must be importing a image (tga) with cube size, ex; 32*32px, 64*64px, 128*128px, 256*256px 512*512px and etc.

and I suggest save them with the fallowing name;

[YOUR_NAME]_sp.tga , [YOUR_NAME]_ori.tga , [YOUR_NAME]_mk.tga , [YOUR_NAME]_sp2.tga etc.

Edit:

and use gildor's or elfocrash's tool so that you don't need to have time to rename them.
