Need help getting client to connect to my server

I have tried numerous times to get my hi5 client to connect to my server i am hosting but it always wants to connect to retail or another private server (depending which system folder i use regardless of changing l2.ini or my host files...) i would like to be able to customise my client so that people dont have to mess wityh their host files because ive learned that alot of non computer savy people have problems with host files and such.
