  1. Yea this is where I am stuck I believe. I cannot find this file. I have checked in tools and almost every other folder with java files. I am getting past the login name/password and when I select server I freeze up. Any advice?
  2. While looking for information on clients I found another SVN/Repack source. I followed the guide on this site and installed my svn from http://my-svn.assembla.com/svn/aion-emu/ but I also found another source from Easy Aion Galaxy with a lot of fixes apparently. Here is the site http://aiongemu.com/topic/77-novos-easy-aiongalaxyemu-repack-003-client-27x/. I am just wondering, which repack is better? I'm curious because I haven't found anything about the svn.assembla.com source. Any insight would be appreciated.
  3. Ok I followed this setup tutorial http://maxcheaters.com/forum/index.php?topic=96323.0. Core is compiled, database is setup, login and server batch looks good, ports are fowarded etc. Before I go any further I need to find out more information on client/server versions please. I found a patch that restores the client to version 2.7. Is that the latest stable/playable version? And if so, what do I need to change (files etc) to make my client and server negotiate (I don't see the version.java under tools anywhere)? I have attempted a login with the current client (3.0) just for shits and giggles, installed the no_ip.dll to bin32 and after login it froze up of course but it did make an account for me however, in the query. Lol. Now these may be silly questions but, what server file version did I download with the SVN? How do you even know what client version to install? And where do you find the appropriate client files? Here is a link to a page with a version 2.7 download/patch http://fyyre.ivory-tower.de/. Do I just overwrite the installed 3.0 version that ncsoft launcher downloaded? I also noticed a couple of "update" folders in the gameserver and login server folders with 4 more SQL's named inventory, index, and player.sql and accountdata.sql (login). Should I execute these into the appropriate databases? Edit: I downgraded to 2.7 by overwriting my aion client files with the 3.0 to 2.7 patch and now I can make it past the name/password but it freezes at the server select screen.
  4. Ho'kay. Not a bad guide btw, got some holes but w/e it worked. Core is compiled, database is setup, login and server batch looks good, ports are fowarded etc. Before I go any further I need to find out more information on client/server versions please. I found a patch that restores the client to version 2.7. Is that the latest stable/playable version? Any advice would still be greatly appreciated.
  5. Yep, I am looking around still so I may answer my own question but I am curious... Where do we find the client for this version and what version is this exactly? Edit: Ok I think I figured out the client version issue, seems you just downgrade to the appropriate client with a patch (hope I'm right at least). But.. I am getting this message when I run eclipse. Any clue what I did wrong? "A Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) must be available in order to run Eclipse. No Java virtual machine was found after searching the follwing locations: C:\My Aion Server\Downloads\Eclipse\jre\bin\javaw.exe javaw.exe in your current path" Edit: Got it mate, seems that eclipse link wasn't kosher. Moving forward now. Now for creating the database, do I create a login database and a gameserver database? Or execute both sql's into the same database? How many sql's are there total?
  6. Hey guys, I'm not a complete newb but I'll most likely ask some stupid questions, heh. Just looking to set up an Aion server to mess around with. It looks deceptively simple. Questions: 1) Which version is most stable? I see there are versions 2.0 floating around but also a lot of 2.5's and even a 2.7? 2) Where do I download the client for these versions? 3) Any specific version of java to use? Is version 6 ok? (I have a Maplestory game installed that requires version 6 but I can remove it) I'm new here so I will endeavor to find these answers on the search and in other threads but any advice to point me in the right direction would be fantastic, thanks!
  7. Incoming newb! Nice to meet you all, just yell if I talk to much, heh.
