If you know, how do extenders work, you should understand, that offline shop, craft book, vampiric, vote rewards,  auto-soul shots, anti-bot CAPTCHA - those things are almost impossible to do on c1 with extenders. Not talking about hundreds of bugs, and stabilizing sever so it's not crashing twice per day with 300 online.

 

I don't care about online much, very few ppl who are love c1/c2, I'm doing this to preserve part of history. And extenders/L2J/private projects in 90% are for $$.

indie projects like this one are making me fear the worst
not only for my srv  but for almost all lineage 2 communities
i asked to a lot of ppl since 2018 and mostly people that never played lineage 2
question as will you like to join X server, overall people answer

Extenders are good as they tackle common exploits (that are well known due to how horribly outdated the leaked files are) and server crashes. Everything else that an extender does, is cancer (unless you yourself specifically need that in your custom gameplay).

 

As for the client packets, that is easy, as explained above. I can disguise a MUO server as a L2 server (even the latest LIVE/CLASSIC/BLOODY version), so what? It is still MUO that players would be actually playing. Not L2, no matter how much advertisements would claim otherwise.

In other words, just because I would make MUO server work with IL client, that will not magically make me have a REAL IL private server.

might be a bit diferent from what i tested cause i only used everything that was free out there

never bought a server pack from anyone
and i always tried to make something that maybe points more to dungeon and dragons stuff

C4 leak and their open source aka used as base till hellbound 
IL versions back in past dVamp kind and later vanganth
GF extended till H5

actually for nowdays if we gonna compare source replica  with java server
we can say it does not matter so much what do you use to run as server
but packet handling from client is the real matter

but you know that noone actually cared in that time lineage 2 was pay to play
even for many people knowing that there was still big meeting at hunter village
the disaster unleashed with C4 and their inner circle devs staff
as one member left with the C3 project
and later near C4 to C5  i only played from inet cafe less and less due money/time
also i dont know who was in charge at their final era
cause when they changed from C3 to C4 i stoped to talk to all the staff  
one day when i showed up to the inet cafe and browsed to dwnload the patch

back to extender thing
last time i used VS to build smthing was back in 2012
and the only build/compile done was the public alpha hellbound 

im still student in that area and im willing to at least try to build something

i can see since the days we used to play in the old l2x  (C2/C3 times)
there was more players and few admins

nowdays there are 5323432 java projects

very very few extender projects

most players nowdays got a basic idea of how to run a Java server

and just few still woking with Extender
now using common sense
a server opens, lets says a L2 Classic Java that is actually on the wave

it gets a good bunch of people 
some weeks later 1/4 population starts to demand staff to make changes on server or balance related
as staff deny they quit playing cause they got idea of how to make a java server

they start their own new java server 
and so on... a month or 2 later you got at least 5 new l2 servers with promises
most of them fresh projects...

you know i have stick to C4 since 2017 and i dont find any entertainment in any new Chronicle

i still like lot more the experience of playing in extender kind

but i also remember having good time in some java servers
at this point i wont argue again about development

we already tested on windows 8, 7, XP and including on linux with wine
C4 client and patch works perfect till windows 10 build 14393

at more recent windows 10 builds

as the game auto close at launch
you must add l2.exe  to DEP exclusion
We have documented this error as a DEP (Data Execution Prevention) related problem and is solved excluding system\l2.exe

How to:
1) Right click the start button and select System
2) Click Advanced in the left navigation bar
3) Click on Performance
4) CLick on "Data Execution Prevention"
5) Click on "Add exclusion" and look for system/l2.exe
6) Ok, OK, OK and restart if needed

if anyone experience crash error please post here good quality screenshot
or post detailed crash error info
otherwise i might not be able to find a fix or solution

i fear that is going the same way as Revolution

it has nice graphics but something is lost

leaving the game on the same bad place as years ago

crap again... what they did best compared to private servers? 
nothing!  they even got a pig capitalist attitude by
buy NCcoins get a 7 days items,  buy again cause your item is gone
i dont say that many private servers are the diamond they also went to hell with things like that 
but perhaps... the game was a bit close to a good RPG
still a bit of Arcade thing cause you dont earn a % on skill mastery by using your weapon like in healbreath
anyway we all can live with lvl 1 skill lvl 2 lvl 3 and so on by SP gain
